Volunteers at Evansville's Anchor Industries produced the "World's Largest Flag" which weighs seven tons and measures 411 feet wide by 210 feet tall. It was dedicated to American hostages in Iran.

Located in the Shawnee National Forest in Southeastern Illinois, Garden of the Gods is famous for its unique rock formations and spectacular views, including Camel Rock and Anvil Rock. Garden of the Gods features hiking, camping and picnicking. A short looped trail from the main parking lot, which can be hiked in about 45 minutes, passes along most of the main rock formations.
