National Cigar Corporation's Charles Denby Invincibles cigar brand was named after Colonel Charles Denby, who called Evansville home from 1853 until his death in 1904. Col. Denby was a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, Lt. Col. for the Union army in the Civil War, Minister to China, lawyer and newspaperman. He is buried in Evansville's Oak Hill Cemetery.
